Chelsea Star Duo To Leave In Summer

Chelsea Star Duo To Leave In Summer

According to the Telegraph, reports emerging from Stamford Bridge suggest Jose Mourinho is ready to offload players like Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto’o and David Luiz in the summer transfer window to release some liquidity for new signings.

Mourinho will be livid with his side’s inability to maintain a comfortable lead at the top of the Barclays Premier League. Chelsea had a considerable lead over Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal, but have once again slipped in recent games to let their rivals back in the hunt for the crown by losing their past 2 league games. City have two games in hand over the Blues, without the pressure of the UEFA Champions League, and Liverpool currently lead the table after Chelsea’s away loss at Crystal Palace. With six games to go for Mourinho’s men, they cannot afford another slip up if they have any chance of winning the league.

However, any result this season will not be counted as a failure, as this after all has been Mourinho’s first season back in charge of proceedings at the London based club. Players like Torres and Luiz are some of the highest paid players, but do not produce the quality expected from them. A loan move for the duo could be on the cards, and the same money saved could be allocated for new players.
