Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has agreed a new five-year deal with the club, according to multiple reports in the UK.
The 23-year-old had two years left on his current contract, but the extension will see him earn £150,000 a week, a £90K increase.
Loftus-Cheek is unlikely to return to fitness before the end of 2019 following the Achilles injury he sustained in a friendly against New England Revolution back in May.
The midfielder was, though, a key first-team figure by the end of Maurizio Sarri’s reign in charge, and will likely feature prominently under the next manager when he returns to fitness.
It was a different story at the beginning of the season, though, with Loftus-Cheek having questioned his future at the club amid speculation of a move to Crystal Palace.
His ten goals and five assists in 40 appearances for Chelsea last campaign showed that the player has now firmly established himself at Stamford Bridge.
