Chelsea Set To Start The Bidding For Milan’s Mario Balotelli

Mario Balotelli seems set on leaving Italy after repeatedly accusing the fans of being racists. According to the Daily Express, the Italian international is keen on returning to the Premier League where he played for Manchester City. Chelsea might benefit from this situation and finally sign a striker good enough to live up to the same level as his teammates. Up until now, Drogba has been the only one who has managed to impress at Stamford Bridge. Torres, Demba Ba and Eto’o all failed to provide the needed fire power to take Chelsea to the top.

Milan are willing to sell Balotelli for £20 million which is a lot less than Chelsea expected to pay for a striker. After selling Luiz for £50 million to PSG, The Blues would have enough money to bring in not one but two goal scorers. With all current strikers already half way out the door, Balotelli looks like the perfect way to start the transfer period.

Chelsea will have to battle it out with Arsenal and Liverpool if they really want the 23 year old. The biggest advantage The Blues have over the other two clubs is the fact that Mourinho looks like the only one capable of handling Balotelli’s unpredictable behavior and his strange character. Arsenal and Liverpool would take a big risk spending this much money on a player who is such high maintenance. It is very unlikely he will end up at the Emirates or playing for Liverpool. Chelsea seems the only viable solution for Balotelli’s Premier League return.
