Chelsea Set To Sign Sami Khedira?

Chelsea look keen on signing the German international, Sami Khedira who is no longer part of Real’s plans for next season. The 27 year old who has always been one of Mourinho’s favorite players has made 90 championship appearances for the Spanish side since moving to Madrid in 2010. Unfortunately his recent situation has determined his agent to look for a new destination. London might just be the direction in which Khedira is heading especially with Mourinho set on bringing in some reinforcements.

The German International seems to have made the list of two other big teams. Roma and Fiorentina are according to talkSPORT two other possible destinations for Khedira who is not sure what the future holds. He is currently valued at £20.5m which might be a bit much for the Blues if the Costa deal goes through. One other thing worth mentioning is the fact that the 27 year old has been out for six months this season due to a complicated knee injury which may have left a mark on the midfielders’ game.

With Lampard rumored to about to sign another one year extension it is hard to believe Khedira will move to London this summer. The Blues have a pretty strong midfield especially after Matic rejoined the team during the winter transfer period. Add to that the fact that FIFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations seem to have finally started working and you get a very complicated transfer which might not even be that necessary for the Stamford Bridge side.
