Chelsea Set To Consider Juventus’s Proposed Straight Swap Deal For Jorginho

Juventus are ‘ready’ to offer Douglas Costa in their attempt to land Chelsea midfielder Jorginho, according to Sport Mediaset.

The Italian TV network report that Juve cannot match the €50m (£45m) price tag that the Blues have slapped on the Italian international, but they are willing to sacrifice one of their own players to get the deal done.

Costa is valued at around €40m (£36m) to €45m (£40m) by the Bianconeri and they are hopeful that Chelsea will accept the proposal.

The London club are said to prefer cash for Jorginho considering they have made two sizeable outlays on Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.

However, it is believed that Costa could well be seen as a useful addition to the squad by manager Frank Lampard, with the Blues expecting both Willian and Pedro to leave at the end of the season.

Ziyech has filled one of those vacancies, but it is felt that another reinforcement out wide will be needed, so Costa could be an attractive option.
