Chelsea Set For A Swap?

Chelsea Set For A Swap?

With the winter transfer period fast approaching, several transfer rumors have already emerged. The Blues had a great summer transfer session but also missed out on some big targets. Mourinho who also arrived during the summer has had little time to decide who to bring in so some moves are expected to take place in January.

Chelsea also let a lot of players go this summer in an attempt to start over after Benitez’s departure. The Blues are hoping to create a young and competitive team that will dominate European football in the years to come.

According to Metro, the next departure could be one of Chelsea’s most important players. Ramires who has been with the Blues since 2010 may be the perfect replacement for Xabi Alonso who is no longer able to find a spot in Real’s starting team. That and the fact that Khedira is near the end of his contract may be enough to determine Ancelotti to pay the Brazilian’s price.

Ramires is valued at £15million which is a total bargain considering he is 26 years of age and has played 101 games for a team such as Chelsea in what is probably the strongest championship in the world.  The relationship between Chelsea and Real has been pretty good considering Essien was on loan for the entire 2012-2013 season.

The Brazilian seems to be the main target of Real Madrid’s transfer campaign which may also include Tottenham’s Paulinho. The bond between Ramires and Ancelotti may be the extra edge Real Madrid need to make this work.

The 26 year old midfielder was brought in at Stamford Bridge by the Italian manager who was always keen on Ramires’s box-to-box midfielder abilities. It may be farfetched but an exchange may occur. It is well known that Mourinho tried to take Xabi Aloso with him to London but the transfer could not happen at the time. The only problem with this exchange would be the fact that the Spaniard is just about to turn 32 which is a bit much for Chelsea’s newly imposed signing age limit.
