Chelsea Set £40m Asking Price As German Giants Target Deal For Starlet

Chelsea have told Bayern Munich that they will only allow Callum Hudson-Odoi to leave if they bid close to £40m, according to reports in the UK.

Rumours about the Bundesliga champions’ interest surfaced last week, and they are believed to have made two official bids for the teenager; the most recent being £20m.

However, it appears the Blues are demanding almost double what Bayern are currently offering. Hudson-Odoi is one of the club’s most highly rated young talents, but he is yet to break through to become a first team regular under manager Maurizio Sarri.

German clubs are particularly keen on recruiting young English players following the success of Jadon Sancho at Borussia Dortmund, as well as Reiss Nelson, who joined Hoffenheim on loan from Arsenal in the summer.

Hudson-Odoi has made six appearances for Chelsea’s first team this season, and he scored his first goal in senior football with a strike in the 4-0 win over PAOK Salonika in November.
