Chelsea rejected a HUGE offer for young striker from Tottenham on deadline day

Chelsea rejected a huge £25 million bid for striker Tammy Abraham from Tottenham on deadline day, according to reports.

Abraham impressed on-loan with Swansea City last season, scoring five times in his debut season in the Premier League.

And his performances were understood to have especially excited Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, who had eyed the 20-year-old forward as a potential back-up for Harry Kane.

However, according to Goal, the Argentine saw Chelsea turn down a massive £25 million bid on deadline day – a sum that was believed to be enough to lure him away from Stamford Bridge.

The Blues decided to opt against Abraham leaving for a close rival, instead choosing to keep him as the club’s third choice striker behind Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud.

Abraham has not been named of either of Maurizio Sarri’s squads for the opening two games of the Premier League season, however the youngster is expected to feature in both the Carabao Cup and Europa League.
