Chelsea Ready To Hold Firm On £57m Star’s Future As Agent Talks Up Transfer

Chelsea are adamant that they will keep hold of midfielder Jorginho this summer, according to reports in the UK.

The Italian has been heavily linked with Juventus to join former manager Maurizio Sarri at the Serie A champions.

Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos has revealed that although the midfielder is happy at Chelsea, he wouldn’t completely rule out a move to Juve:

“Chelsea have a four-year contract with the lad. We’ll wait a few days to figure out whether there is any truth in this interest mentioned in the papers.”

“He found a great atmosphere and we can’t really say that he’d like to go elsewhere, but anything can happen in the transfer market. We’ll wait and see.”

However, the Blues are believed to be determined to keep the £57m signing at Stamford Bridge. The London club are currently subject to a transfer ban and they won’t be able to replace Jorginho if they were to sell the 27-year-old.

Chelsea see him as a key player going forward despite being the subject of a great deal of criticism during his first season in England.

Playing in a deep-lying playmaker role, Jorginho did not contribute much in the attacking third of the pitch, and many supporters would like to see N’Golo Kante return to his favoured role in the team.
