Chelsea Prove That They Deserve To Be On Top

Chelsea have proven too tough for Arsenal who struggled to find their way to goal. The Blues dominated and made the most out of their few opportunities. They scored two out of their three shots which were on target and showed once again that they know exactly when to step on the throttle. Mourinho’s side is now five points in front in the Premier League standings.

Hazard seemed too much at times for Arsenal’s defense. He was a lot faster than his adversaries and he lost the defenders along the way on several occasions. He got a well-deserved goal after blazing through several opponents only to be stopped inside the box. The penalty which was given by the referee put Chelsea in front even though in terms of possession Arsenal led the way at the time.

Flamini reminded the fans that Wenger needs to bring in reinforcements. The Frenchman who came for free to the Emirates, has had an awful season and was close to scoring an own goal after Hazard sent the ball into the box.

The game was pretty much over after Arsenal’s former captain, Cesc Fabregas found Costa with an impressive assist. Chelsea’s striker was also faster than the Gunners’ defensive line who showed its limits against world class competition.

Arsenal could have scored as well if the referee would have granted them a penalty for the hand ball committed by Fabregas inside the box. Even so, it is hard to say that the Gunners deserved a draw yet alone a victory as Wenger continued his miserable record against Jose Mourinho as Arsenal’s boss has faced the “special one” 12 times failing to get the better of him even once.
