Goalkeeper and Defence
GK – Robert Sanchez – the 28-year-old is blameless for the club’s recent poor form. He has kept mistakes to a minimum.
RB – Reece James – the captain needed a rest midweek, but he will return to the starting eleven for the trip to Manchester.
CB – Wesley Fofana – usually, this would be a game where the Frenchman would be benched, as Maresca is hesitant about playing him more than once a week, but this is a massive match, and dropping him is not an option.
CB – Trevoh Chalobah – while the centre-back has been one of the club’s most consistent performers over the course of the season, he will be disappointed by the display he put in against Bournemouth.
LB – Marc Cucurella – Maresca is hopeful that the Spaniard will be ready to face City after the left-back tweaked his hamstring against Aston Villa.
