Goalkeeper and Defence
GK – Robert Sanchez – after Filip Jorgensen filled in for the ES Tunis fixture, the Spaniard is expected to be recalled.
RB – Reece James – having struggled in midfield against Flamengo, it will be hoped that Maresca sees sense and moves him back to his natural position.
CB – Tosin Adarabioyo – the centre-back was the official Player of the Match against ES Tunis so you would expect him to keep his place.
CB – Levi Colwill – it is fair to say that the 22-year-old didn’t have the best of games in his last appearance versus Flamengo so he will need to perform to a higher standard against Benfica.
LB – Marc Cucurella – the Spaniard is always reliable when called upon but the club do need to think about signing a backup option who is naturally left-footed.
