Chelsea will welcome back Jose Mourinho to Stamford Bridge when the Blues take on Benfica in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.
However, there will be no room for sentiment, with Enzo Maresca’s side needing a quick response after another defeat against Brighton at the weekend.
Read below as we share our Chelsea predicted lineup for the match versus Benfica:
Goalkeeper and Defence
GK – Robert Sanchez – the Spaniard was not at fault for Brighton’s goals and he is considerably more reliable than Filip Jorgensen.
RB – Malo Gusto – Reece James can’t play every few days, and he seemed to pick up a knock on Saturday too, so he could be benched, with the Frenchman coming into the lineup in his place.
CB – Trevoh Chalobah – despite his sending off against the Seagulls, the centre-back is not banned for European fixtures.
CB – Jorrel Hato – the Dutchman looked solid, for the most part, in his first start at centre-half, so he could get the nod for the second game in a row.
LB – Marc Cucurella – the left-back’s consistency makes him one of Maresca’s most reliable players.
