Chelsea Poised To Offer 26 Year Old Striker New 100K A Week Contract

Chelsea are set to give striker Michy Batshuayi £100,000 a week in order to prevent him from leaving for nothing next summer, according to the Sun. The 26-year-old’s current deal expires in 2021 and, as things stand, he will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club in January.

The Belgian international is currently earning £85,000 a week and, as an incentive to sign on the dotted line, the Blues are prepared to give him a wage hike before he is allowed to leave on loan.

Crystal Palace, Newcastle and West Brom are all said to be interested in Batshuayi. However, with Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson set to move to St James’ Park, the Magpies could be out of the race very soon.

Palace, meanwhile, are also keen on Conor Gallagher but the Eagles can’t take two players on loan from the same club and will have to decide between the two.
