Chelsea Plotting Surprise Move For £25m Rated Brighton Stopper After Watching Him Regularly

Chelsea are considering making a bid for Brighton centre-back Ben White, according to reports in England. The 22-year-old is currently on loan with Leeds United in the Championship.

He has featured prominently as Marcelo Bielsa’s side sit second in the table after 22 games played, and scouts have reportedly sent back glowing reviews of the player’s performances.

Despite having played just twice for Brighton, White is said to be valued at around £25m, and the defender is believed to be open to moving to Stamford Bridge.

He is rated so highly that he could even be used in the first team straight away if he is signed, but his inexperience at the highest level would be a concern for fans.

Chelsea have already conceded 25 goals in 17 league matches this season and bringing in an experienced defender to marshall the backline is something that is desperately needed. White, though, would not fit that profile.
