Chelsea Plotting Summer Raid For Juventus Midfielder

Arturo Vidal has been a revelation for the Old Lady ever since he moved to Italy from Werder Bremen in 2011. The Chile international won the league title in his debut season for the club and was named the club’s player of the season last term when he helped Juve secure back-to-back league titles.

His stature just keeps on growing as the Italian outfit are on the cusp of a third straight Serie A title. He has already scored 11 goals in the league and his form has, not surprisingly, attracted attention from a host of European clubs.

Real Madrid and Manchester United were rumoured to be interested in his services and Chelsea have joined the race for the Chilean. According to the Mirror, the Blues are ready to shell out £20 million in exchange for Vidal’s services.

The report suggests that the 26-year-old fancies a new challenge abroad and could leave the club in the summer. Juventus have also registered an interest in Chelsea’s Brazilian midfielder Ramires and a swap deal involving Vidal, who is viewed by Chelsea as a potential replacement for Frank Lampard, and Ramires could be on the cards.
