Chelsea Plotting Raid For Serie A Shot Stopper But Face Tough Competition From Two European Heavyweights

Chelsea are lining up an offer for AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, according to reports in Italy. There were claims by journalist Nicola Schira that the Blues had made contact with the Italian’s agent, Mino Raiola, and it appears they are actively looking to sign 21-year-old.

The London club will face stiff competition to secure the shot-stopper’s services, though, with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain also actively considering moves for the Italian international.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is believed to be very keen on signing a replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga who, despite regaining his no.1 spot before the season was suspended, is still expected to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Donnarumma’s sale could be sanctioned as Milan look to balance the books in order to keep within Financial Fairplay regulations.

The keeper has made 26 appearances in all competitions for the Rossoneri this campaign, conceding 33 goals and keeping 10 clean sheets.
