N’Golo Kante
There was a time when N’Golo Kante was believed by many to be the world’s greatest midfielder. Unfortunately, now aged 31 and plagued by injuries, it seems that Kante’s prime has passed.
Some Chelsea fans would like to keep Kante at the club, for sentimental reasons – which is entirely understandable. However, you have to factor in how useful he is to the team at this stage in his career, also. This season, the Frenchman has made just two appearances for Chelsea in all competitions.
At the peak of his powers, Kante was a brilliant defensive midfielder with limitless energy. He won the World Cup in 2018 with France, alongside Premier League titles for both Leicester and Chelsea. Additionally, he also won the Champions League in 2021, where Chelsea beat Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the final.
