Chelsea secured what could be a vital win in the race for Champions League qualification as they put newly-crowned Premier League champions Liverpool to the sword on Sunday evening.
The hosts got off to a lightning start with Enzo Fernandez opening the scoring with just three minutes on the clock.
Enzo Maresca’s side had other chances to go two up before an own goal from Jarell Quansah doubled their lead.
Virgil van Dijk pulled one back for the visitors with a header from a corner. However, the Blues got a third, with Cole Palmer breaking his scoring duck, putting away a penalty with just seconds remaining after Moises Caicedo was brought down in the box.
