Midfield

CM – Moises Caicedo – 5/10 – while the Ecuadorian did win several tackles, his distribution in possession was conservative and he didn’t really help increase the tempo of the game.

CM – Enzo Fernandez – 4/10 – completely anonymous. One of those games from the midfielder who simply didn’t get going.

AM – Cole Palmer – 4/10 – much like Fernandez, he didn’t really feature. He had more touches in the second half but his final ball was found wanting. Really disappointing.

Forwards

RW – Pedro Neto – 6/10 – the winger has too many of these games where he is very lively in possession but fails to create chances.

CF – Joao Pedro – 4/10 – the Brazilian made some decent runs but he was pretty ineffective overall. He failed to stamp his mark on proceedings.

LW – Jamie Gittens – 5/10 – it wasn’t a great debut from the 21-year-old. He did try to make things happen when he got on the ball, driving at defenders, but he didn’t get much joy.

Substitutes

Estevao – 7/10 – it was a a very lively cameo from the Brazilian. Took on his man and delivered some dangerous crosses as well as having a chance to score himself.

Liam Delap – 6/10 – the striker threw his weight around a lot more than Pedro but he only had one tame effort on goal.

Andrey Santos – 5/10 – the midfielder skyed what was arguably Chelsea’s best chance of the match.

Malo Gusto – 5/10 – replaced James who was in danger of being sent off after being booked.
