Goalkeeper and Defence

GK – Robert Sanchez – 6/10 – it was a quiet evening for the Spaniard, who hardly had a save to make.

RB – Reece James – 5/10 – nearly gave a goal away in the opening 10 minutes when he failed to shepherd a ball out for a goal kick. He played well after that, though.

CB – Wesley Fofana – 7/10 – won all of his duels against Hull’s attackers. It was slightly surprising to see him start ahead of Benoit Badiashile, considering it was only a cup game.

CB – Mamadou Sarr – 8/10 – the 20-year-old had two great moments in the match. His early block bailed out James, and he delivered an excellent pass to Estevao, who skied the ball over the bar. A promising full debut.

LB – Jorrel Hato – 7/10 – the Dutchman made one impressive recovery run where he used his pace. He was also involved at the corner before Chelsea’s second goal.
