Chelsea Plan Double CSKA Raid

Chelsea Plan Double CSKA Raid

Jose Mourinho has continuously tried to reshape the squad he inherited from Rafael Benitez last summer, illustrated by the arrival of Nemanja Matic and Mohamed Salah in January with Juan Mata and Michael Essien being the most notable departures.

According to Caught Offside, Mourinho is targeting a move for Alan Dzagoev and Seydou Doumbia in order to continue rebuilding the squad. Both players have been linked with a move to Chelsea in the past and it now seems that the Blues will confirm their interest by submitting a bid for both players.

Dzagoev is a Russian attacking midfielder who has impressed since his move to CSKA in 2008. The 23-year-old has turned down moves to some big clubs in the past but feels the time is right for a new challenge.

Chelsea have missed an out-and-out goal scorer this season and there is no doubt Mourinho will look to bring in at least a couple of strikers in the summer, it just remains to be seen which attackers will arrive at Stamford Bridge. The report suggests that Mourinho is eager to bag Doumbia, who has scored 12 goals in 10 games this season.

However, both players will not be available on the cheap and with expected interest from some top European clubs this summer, Chelsea will have to pay in the region of £45 million to land both stars.
