Chelsea On The Verge Of Losing de Bruyne?

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea could be on the verge of losing their star talent Kevin de Bruyne to German side Wolfsburg, after the Belgian has hardly settled into life at Stamford Bridge and took to loan moves to try and make his way into the already star studded starting eleven.

The implications of this potential transfer will not be heavy on Chelsea, as the squad depth is enough to cover for a loss in this area. Players like Juan Mata have not been able to win a place in Jose Mourinho’s starting eleven, and de Bruyne is another talent who cannot earn a place on the bench anymore. The 22-year old falls in the category where the player is immensely talented, but is not at the stature of the players in the 1st eleven. He has only made 3 appearances in the Barclays Premier League for Chelsea since his move in the winter window of 2012. The youngster then sought a move back to Genk for the rest of the season, before heading again to Werder Bremen on a year-long loan deal.

With the FIFA World Cup around the corner, de Bruyne will want to be in the mind of the national manager, and for that he will have to earn some first team minutes. For Mourinho, bringing in a striker who scores regularly is of prime importance, and the speculated £17 million fee will be good enough to cover the £7 million fee the Blues paid for the youngster in the first place and then some.
