Chelsea On Alert As Manager Admits He “Will Lose” £140M Rated Midfield Duo This Summer

Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi has admitted that one or both of Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister could leave the Seagulls this summer.

Chelsea have been linked with both midfielders in recent weeks, along with a number of other Premier League clubs, and De Zerbi acknowledges that his team are making plans to replace them if they are sold at the end of the season:

“We will lose some players, maybe Caicedo or maybe Mac Allister. We need to bring in some other good players.”

It is believed that Brighton may demand at least £70m each for Caicedo and Mac Allister, and signing either player would be a substantial outlay for the Blues, considering they have concerns about Financial Fair Play.

Recruiting a midfielder, though, could soon become a priority for the London club, especially if the likes of Mason Mount and Mateo Kovacic are sold.

The biggest rivals for Caicedo’s signature are likely to be Arsenal, who made a number of bids for the Ecuadorian during the January transfer window. Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City have also been linked with making offers for Mac Allister.
