Chelsea Offers Mourinho New Deal

Chelsea are confident that Mourinho is the man for them as the Portuguese manager was just given a contract extension despite the Champions League upset against PSG. According to the Daily Star, Abramovich is 100% confident that the Special One will continue doing a great job and that the future looks bright for the Blues. To be fair, Chelsea have had a very trying season up until now, which they have handled excellently. Despite being together for two years, the players are still transitioning from one style to another and have just managed to find an efficient form after Costa and Fabregas came in. It is likely to take one or two more seasons until they become a genuinely unified, strong group.

The Blues have already secured a trophy this season and are definitely looking to snatch the Premier League trophy as well. Sitting 5 points ahead of City at the moment, Chelsea will more than likely become champions. Even if the Champions League was probably right up there with the domestic competition, no consequences will be brought on the players or the staff. They only lost the winning bonus which apparently was to be delivered only if the trophy was won.

Chelsea will now look forward to next year’s Champions League when players like Zouma will have the benefit of the experience needed to handle difficult moments such as the ones seen at Stamford Bridge during the clash against PSG.
