Chelsea Offered Chance To Sign La Liga Ace For £50m

Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign Atletico Madrid winger Thomas Lemar, according to reports in the English media. It is believed he could be available on loan in January with a view to a permanent move.

The Frenchman has fallen down the pecking order under manager Diego Simeone at Atletico, and the La Liga club are said to be looking to offload him for an initial loan fee of £5m, before a £50m sale next summer.

Lemar is reportedly looking for a team playing in the Champions League, and it is thought that the 24-year-old would be open to a move to Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal have been linked to the winger in the past, but their £72m capture of Nicolas Pepe in the summer means they are no longer interested in the player.

Chelsea’s main rivals would be Tottenham who are said to be keeping tabs on the midfielder, but whether the Blues would seriously consider snapping up Lemar, it remains to be seen.

The France international would be cheaper than Jadon Sancho or Wilfried Zaha, but he is not scored or provided an assist in 21 appearances for Atletico this season, which puts big question marks over his quality.
