No Palmer, Cucurella Or Fernandez: Top 5 Highest-Rated Chelsea Players So Far This Season

Chelsea are currently seventh in the Premier League table coming off a superb win against champions Liverpool.

Enzo Maresca will be delighted with his side after he watched winger Estevao score a last minute winner against league champions Liverpool over the weekend.

It means that Chelsea head into the international break on a positive note, and potentially have a chance to build on the win moving forward. However, there have been a lot of injury problems for the Blues so far this season.

The first two major absentees were Levi Colwill and Liam Delap, but we have since seen injuries to stars such as Cole Palmer, meaning other players have had to step up. So, ChelseaNews decided to see who the top five highest rated Blues are so far this season. (Ratings from Whoscored.com)

5. Estevao – 6.96 average rating

The Brazilian wonderkid has been excellent since he joined Chelsea in the summer transfer window showing already that he has the maturity and ability to succeed in the Premier League.

He’s scored one goal and provided one assist in the Premier League so far, and will only get more as his game time under Maresca increases week upon week.

4. Tosin Adarabioyo – 7.04 average rating

Tosin has been one of the defenders helping to step in for the injured Colwill, and he has done so excellently for Maresca.

He has made four appearances in total in the Premier League, and has proven himself to be a solid centre-back option for the Blues. A very underrated player at Stamford Bridge.

3. Joao Pedro – 7.06 average rating

Pedro has been anything but underrated. He came with high expectations from Brighton, and has absolutely shown that he’s capable of leading the line for Chelsea.

The Brazilian striker has scored two goals, and provided three assists in seven Premier League games for the Blues. He has made the most of Delap’s injury.

2. Trevoh Chalobah – 7.28 average rating

Before the season, many wouldn’t have considered Chalobah as one of Chelsea’s key players, but he has really proved to be just that.

For a start, he has two goals from the centre-back position, but also contributes defensively better than arguably anybody else in Maresca’s side, another really underrated Premier League star.

1. Moises Caicedo – 7.48 average rating

No Palmer, no Enzo Fernandez, no Cucurella, but it is no surprise to see who is top of the pile at Stamford Bridge. Caicedo has been simply unbelievable both defensively and in attack this season for Chelsea.

He scored a wonder goal vs Liverpool, taking his tally up to three goals in seven Premier League games, which is impressive for a defensive midfielder. Take receipts here…Caicedo will be a Ballon d’Or contender next year.
