Chelsea officially released their third kit today (Tuesday 27th August), and the design has gone down well with supporters.
Manufacturers have been inspired by Punk Rock, the music craze that began nearly fifty years ago in West London. The shirt is black with pink and yellow trim with a double vertical Nike swoosh logo. The lion also replaces the full club badge, with a number of “clashing punk patterns” printed across the shirt. Fans on X believe the third kit will be a big hit:

Nike have been bold with their 2024/25 kits
The American kit supplier certainly hasn’t been safe with their design choices this season. Many supporters were put off by the the home jersey, with the wavey design pattern across the shirt not going down well.
It’s fair to say that the away shirt did get a much better reception, with the design being described as “guava ice” white, with orange and blue trim.
The bold colour scheme of the third kit also seems to have been well-received by most sections of the fanbase.
When will Chelsea play in the shirt?
Supporters may have to wait a while to see it being used by the first team. The Blues play Bournemouth and West Ham in the next two away fixtures and the “guava ice” jersey would be favoured in those two matches.
Interestingly enough, the trip to Anfield in October could be a good candidate for its first league outing, but there may be more opportunities for it to be used in the Carabao Cup and UEFA Conference League.
