Goalkeeper and Defence
GK – Robert Sanchez – 4/10 – almost gifted Cody Gakpo the opener, he then needed VAR to save him after the referee initially awarded a penalty before not covering himself in glory for Liverpool’s second goal.
RB – Reece James – 6/10 – looked like he’d never been away in the first half but he did fail to track Curtis Jones’s run for Liverpool’s second. Substituted shortly afterwards.
CB – Tosin Adarabioyo – 5/10 – got booked early on after hauling back Diogo Jota on the halfway line and he was replaced by Benoit Badiashile before the hour mark.
CB – Levi Colwill – 5/10 – a clumsy challenge on Jones led to Liverpool’s opening goal. The defender looked nervous throughout the game.
LB – Malo Gusto – 6/10 – asked to invert with Marc Cucurella suspended. Did a decent job and battled well with Mo Salah.
