Goalkeeper and Defence
GK – Filip Jorgensen – 5/10 – the Dane made several excellent saves during the match but he undid all of his hard work by letting in Asensio’s tame shot for Villa’s winner.
RB – Malo Gusto – 4/10 – the 21-year-old looked lively going forward but he gave possession away too many times, and he failed to get enough on the ball to prevent Marcus Rashford from providing the assist for Asensio’s equaliser.
CB – Trevoh Chalobah – N/A – another injury for head coach Enzo Maresca to worry about with the defender being forced off after just 8 minutes.
CB – Levi Colwill – 6/10 – a much-improved performance from the centre-back as he kept track of Ollie Watkins, for the most part.
LB – Marc Cucurella – 7/10 – like Colwill, the Spaniard looked much better than in other recent outings. He made a crucial block on 20 minutes to stop Watkins from scoring.
