Former Chelsea forward Kai Havertz had a game to forget as Arsenal crashed out of the FA Cup at the weekend.
The German missed the decisive penalty in the shootout against Manchester United but he also missed two golden opportunities to win the game before that. Sky Sports described the performance as a “horror show” and Blues fans on X were less than sympathetic, with many glad that their club managed to sell Havertz for the price they did:

Summer 2020 transfer window flops
Chelsea spent over £200m on new signings ahead of the 2020/21 season but very few of them went on to make the impact the club would have hoped for.
In addition to Havertz, Timo Werner flattered to deceive – he is now a squad player at Tottenham. Hakim Ziyech is with Galatasaray, having fallen out with their manager, while Ben Chilwell is set to leave Stamford Bridge this month, having been frozen out by head coach Enzo Maresca.
Edouard Mendy did have a strong start to life at Stamford Bridge before a dip in form led to him being sold to Saudi Arabia. Malang Sarr spent four years on the club’s books before leaving on a free transfer last year.
Only one Chelsea signing from that summer was a success
Thiago Silva arrived in the same window as those six players and, despite being a free transfer, he proved to be a much better addition than any of the others.
The Brazilian spent four years as a key figure in the Blues’ backline before departing for Fluminense in July.
