With the Spaniard being the last manager to face Chelsea before Maresca’s departure, it would be ironic if he were hired as his replacement.
Iraola has done an excellent job since his appointment as Cherries boss, but there is more than a whiff of Graham Potter about this one.
While Iraola has overachieved, his highest finish is still only 9th in the table.
On top of that, his team hasn’t actually won a game since October despite securing a draw at Stamford Bridge midweek.
