Former Arsenal midfielder Gilberto Silva has backed Chelsea star Estevao to go from strength to strength following his recent form for club and country.
The teenager has earned plenty of plaudits after scoring goals for the Blues and Brazil over the past couple of weeks, and speaking to GiveMeSport, Silva said he believes the forward possesses the ability to go right to the very top:
“I believe he’s going to be a very top player. He’s got the talent. I believe now he is going to get more mature. The maturity of moving to a different country will be so important for him to change experience.”
“A different league, experiencing a different type of competition, a high-level competition, in Europe, against the best players in the world, will be important for his maturity and improvement. I’m sure he’s going to be a top, top player. Not only for Chelsea, but in the world.”
Estevao is living up to the hype
The composure that the 18-year-old showed to seal a last-minute win against Liverpool has raised the profile of the player even further.
There was plenty of talk about Estevao even before he officially secured his transfer to Stamford Bridge back in August, but his performances since moving to England have shown that he is worthy of all the excitement. The sky is very much the limit for this prodigious talent.
The winger has handed Chelsea a major fitness boost
Estevao has been pictured back in training with the Brazil squad ahead of their friendly against Japan. He was a doubt heading into the fixture after contracting Flu.
However, it looks like the youngster will be ready to face Nottingham Forest when Enzo Maresca’s side travel to the City Ground on Saturday.
