Shots faced and non-penalty xG against
One of the key cornerstones of Manchester City’s success under Guardiola is that they rarely face many shots.
During the 2023/24 campaign, the Premier League champions averaged 7.66 shots faced per 90, with their non-penalty xG against per 90 being 0.87.
Maresca’s Leicester do compare well in terms of their non-penalty xG against stat (0.91 per 90) but they did face three more shots per match on average (10.54).
It does indicate that the Italian isn’t quite as adept at preventing teams from shooting at his goalkeeper.
