Chelsea Named Among 4 Clubs Ready To Make Move For French Ace With 6 Goals And 3 Assists This Season

Chelsea are keeping tabs on Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele’s contract situation, according to Sport. The Catalan newspaper claims that the Blues, along with Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Juventus are all interested in the France international.

The 23-year-old’s current deal at the Camp Nou expires in 2022 but Barca’s attempts to get the player to sign an extension has so far not succeeded and the La Liga side may consider selling him in the summer.

Dembele has previously had a history of hamstring injuries but he has kept himself fit this season, scoring six goals and providing three assists in 19 appearances. His impressive recent form has increased Barcelona’s desire to keep him.

Whether Chelsea would need yet another winger in their first-team squad, it is debatable. The Blues already have the likes of Hakim Ziyech, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic, while players such as Timo Werner can also play in wide areas. It may be the case that the London club are looking at Dembele if he decides to run down his contract.
