Chelsea Monitoring Dutch Teenage Sensation After Stellar Start To The Season

Chelsea are keeping a close eye on PSV playmaker Mohamed Ihattaren, according to Calciomercato.com. Despite the Blues’ transfer ban, scouts have identified the 17-year-old as an exciting young prospect.

The teenager has started the season in excellent form, having scored three and contributed six assists in 12 games for his club. He scored his first goal at senior level in the 2-0 win over Heracles in August, before bagging two more in the Europa League playoff round tie against Apollon Limassol.

Ihattaren generally plays as a number 10 but has also been utilised on the right wing by PSV manager Mark van Bommel this campaign. Considering that Chelsea have both Mason Mount and Ross Barkley who can play in the same position, it would be a surprise if they see the Dutchman as a priority signing next summer.

However, with manager Frank Lampard continuing to blood young players into the first team, Ihattaren may well be the type of player the Blues boss is looking for.
