Chelsea Monitoring £50m Rated Keeper Who Is Set To Hand Ultimatum To Manager In ‘Showdown Talks’

Chelsea are keeping tabs on Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson who is poised for “showdown talks” with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, according to the Sun.

The 23-year-old wants to be the club’s number one and he is expected to tell Solskjaer that if he is only going to be David De Gea’s deputy next season, he would prefer to be sold.

Blues boss Frank Lampard is said to be a fan of Henderson with reports last month suggesting that the London club were prepared to pay up to £50m for the shot-stopper.

However, United will be very reluctant to sell him to a direct rival so a move to Stamford Bridge is deemed unlikely at this stage.

Henderson’s desire for first-team football could be sated by going on another loan spell, with Sheffield United keen on taking him for a third successive season. Chelsea, will, though, be hoping that the keeper forces through a permanent departure from Old Trafford.
