Chelsea monitoring £40 million rated Watford star

Chelsea are monitoring Watford star Richarlison ahead of a surprise summer move for the Brazilian, according to reports.

Richarlison moved to Vicarage Road in an £11.2 million move from Fluminense last summer, and got off to a flying start to his career in England, netting five times in his first 12 games for the Hornets.

The Brazil U20 international however has not found the net since November, and there are increasing concerns over his physical wellbeing having not had a break from football in over year due to the crossover in timings between the Brazilian Serie A and Premier League seasons.

The forward’s poor form however has not deterred any potential suitors, of a group of which Chelsea appear to be the frontrunners.

Antonio Conte wanted to sign the 20-year-old striker last summer, however Richarlison instead opted to move to Watford for the prospect of more regular game time.

Conte however is understood to be prepared to go in again for the Brazilian come the end of the season as he looks to bolster his attacking options after a poor season at Stamford Bridge.

Any move for Richarilson however is likely to cost Chelsea in the region of £40 million with Watford keen to hold on to a player they see as one of their most prized assets.

Manchester United and Everton are both also interested in the player.
