Chelsea Midfielder Moves To Turkey

Chelsea midfielder Marko Marin has completed a loan move to Turkish side Trabzonspor, with the side being given an option to sign the player permanently for around €4 million at any time.

The team released a statement on the stock exchange disclosing the details of the one-year deal. Marin will receive a €1.6 million salary in addition to a €10,000 per-match bonus and Trabzonspor have the option to a €4 million buyout clause. HaberTürk report that Chelsea will pay Marin an additional €900,000 towards his salary and that Trabzonspor managed to negotiate his buyout clause from €7 million down to €4 million.

Marin had his first training session with his new side yesterday after passing his medical and has become the latest of a growing number of talents moving to the Super League. The former German international, who was touted to be the next big thing upon his move to Chelsea, will be available to play for Trabzonspor in their next league game against Akhisar.

The 26-year-old has spent the last three seasons out on loan at Sevilla, Fiorentina and Anderlecht since joining Chelsea from Werder Bremen in 2012. He managed just 6 appearances for Chelsea during his stay, and played very underwhelming parts for the team whilst on loan at his respective clubs listed apart. Despite representing Germany at almost every level, including the senior team on 16 occasions, Marin has fallen far down the pecking order in recent times.

We would like to wish Marin all the best on his future pastures.
