Chelsea midfielder identified as ‘number one target’ for Ligue 1 giants this summer

Chelsea midfielder N’golo Kante has been identified as PSG’s ‘number one’ transfer target this summer.

Canal+ report that the Ligue 1 leaders are on the lookout for a long-term replacement for veteran midfielder Thiago Motta, and have eyed Kante as their main target.

The Parisian giants are also thought to be keeping tabs on AS Monaco star Fabinho.

Kante joined Chelsea in the summer of 2016 in a £30 million from Leicester City, with whom he had just captured an astonishing Premier League trophy.

In his first season at Stamford Bridge, Kante repeated the achievement, becoming the first player ever in Premier League history to win back-to-back league titles with different clubs.

He also won the prestigious PFA Player of the Year award.

This season, the former Caen midfielder has been unable to help himself to a third title in a row, with Chelsea currently sitting fifth in the Premier League, however the France international has remained a stalwart in Antonio Conte’s midfield.

Kante has made 35 appearances so far this season for the Blues in all competitions, scoring one goal.

His current contract in South West London expires in the summer of 2021.
