Chelsea Marksman Set To Be Subject Of A £22m Bid In January

Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi will be the subject of a £22m offer from Crystal Palace in the January transfer window, according to the Sun. The Belgian has been a peripheral figure at the Blues this season and the Eagles are keen to snap up the 26-year-old.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at Selhurst Park, scoring six goals in 13 appearances, and manager Roy Hodgson is apparently keen on signing him on a permanent basis.

Batshuayi scored after coming as a substitute in the 4-1 win over Southampton on Sunday but he has made just one start in the Carabao Cup under manager Frank Lampard.

The forward appears to have edged ahead of Olivier Giroud in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, but Tammy Abraham’s form means he is unlikely to get regular game time.

Even so, there is no guarantee that Chelsea will accept an offer from Palace for Batshuayi. The Blues’ transfer ban remains in place until the summer and they would have no way to replace the Belgian international if he leaves midway through the season.
