Chelsea Make ‘Firm Offer’ For Ligue One Shot Stopper Who Could Be Available For Just £9m

Chelsea have made a “firm offer” for Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan, according to Sport.fr. The French website says they do not know what the Blues have offered for the 24-year-old but they claim he could be sold for just €10m (£9m).

Whether that figure is accurate or not, it remains to be seen, but it appears Lille are open to selling the former France Under 21 international when the transfer window opens.

Chelsea are believed to be in the market for another keeper, with manager Frank Lampard seemingly unimpressed with current number one Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The Blues boss would have seen Maignan up close on two occasions this season, after playing Lille in the Champions League groups stage, and it appears he was impressed by what he saw.

They may have competition for the shot-stopper, though, with other reports in France suggesting that Tottenham could enter the race, with the player teaming up with his former goalkeeping coach Nuno Santos.
