Chelsea Looking To Steal Another Target From Liverpool In Marco Reus

Dortmund will have to sell Reus this winter in order to avoid losing him for free. Apparently Chelsea will want to take advantage of that by making a proper offer in January. According to Metro, Mourinho has made the German international a priority despite only mentioning his name a few days back. Liverpool are the ones who will be competing with Chelsea for the forward’s signature. Arsenal were also linked to Reus but they seem to have dropped out of the race after signing defensive players has become their number one priority.

Reus could even makes his way straight through to Chelsea’s first team as Mourinho is preparing to offer Dortmund a swap. Andre Schurrle is set to move back to Germany and help out Dortmund who will probably accept such an offer. It would be a bit strange to see this move go through considering the fact that both players are somewhat similar and equal as far as their skill and efficiency goes. They are also versatile and have little differences separating them. There would seem to be little sense behind a swap but I have grown wiser than to doubt Mourinho’s ways. It would make more sense if Chelsea actually buys Reus who is one of the most promising players in Europe. Even though he is not 18 anymore, everyone is waiting for him to explode after signing up with another big-time team. Chelsea might just be that team if you consider the form in which the team is in right now and the players Mourinho has managed to bring in. So it looks like the “Special One” is likely to break the heart of Liverpool’s manager again as he did with Loic Remy in the summer, as Chelsea have the ability to attract players that can genuinely make a difference to a squad while Brendan Rodgers seems to be lacking in that department when compared to the charming Portuguese tactician and man-manager. The Liverpool boss can only boast the addition of a number of decent squad players but no player who can set the League alight as the mercurial Luis Suarez could – the Uruguayan is certainly being missed at Anfield and in the Premier League as a whole; with Lambert, Markovic, Can, Lovren, Balotelli and even the spirited Lallana not coming close to making up for the loss in morale or ability of Suarez – Liverpool are gonna need Sturridge to return on fire and Faborini and Sterling to start delivering the goods in a big way.
