Chelsea Look Set To Offer £20m For 21 Year Old After Failing To Land Lampard’s Top Two Targets

Chelsea have opted to make a move for CSKA Moscow striker Fedor Chalov after deciding they can’t land either Timo Werner or Moussa Dembele in January, according to the Express.

The Blues believe that their top two striker targets will not be available this month so they have decided to switch their focus to a 21-year-old Russian international instead.

Manager Frank Lampard has tasked the club with signing a striker before the transfer window closes, with Olivier Giroud expected to leave Stamford Bridge, and Chalov is seen as the most realistic target.

The forward is not the most prolific, having scored just six goals in 27 appearances for CSKA this campaign, but he is seen as a decent backup option for Tammy Abraham.

Chalov could be signed for as little as £20m, and it is believed Chelsea feel he could be a short-term solution before they go all out for either Werner or Dembele next summer.
