The 18-year-old, Bertrand Traore joined the Chelsea squad on their pre-season tour as a trialist and impressed in his few outings. He signed a four-and-a-half-year contract in October and officially completed his transfer to Chelsea on January 1, 2014.

An international with Burkina Faso, Traore completed his move from unknown Burkinabe side Association Jeunes Espoirs De Bobo-Dioulasso but has impressed Mourinho enough to hand him a professional contract.

However, he will continue his development at Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem, at least until the end of the season. The midfielder is expected to have more first-team opportunities at Vitesse, who are currently second in the Eredivisie standings.

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea released a statement on their official website which read, “Traore signed for Chelsea following a successful trial period with the club during the summer, and now heads to the Netherlands to gain first-team experience. Traore will link up with a Vitesse side which is currently second in the Eredivisie, on the same points as leaders Ajax.”

Vitesse already have two youngsters on loan from the Blues, Sam Hutchison and Gael Kakuta, but both have been recalled to London by manager Jose Mourinho.
