Chelsea is looking to bring in French rising star Raphael Varane who has always been one of Mourinho’s favorite players. While the Portuguese boss was in Madrid, the young defender had a spot secured in the starting eleven and has been missing those chances since Ancelotti took over. According to Metro though, Varane might be returning to work with the Special One. An offer is expected from Chelsea who have been interested in a couple of players from Real since the summer. It appears that Jese Rodriguez is also on the list and could become part of a double deal which is set to take place this January.

Apparently a total of £35million will be spent on the two despite Mourinho’s recent statements in which he insisted no transfers will be made this winter. If they were to disregard what he said, it is very possible that the money needed for this double transfer be obtained by selling Schurrle and Salah who are both on the transfer list. It would be a useful change in the squad for Chelsea who already have a lot of attacking midfielders and wingers. Bringing in a defender and a forward would be in their interests especially for the future. Drogba will leave at the end of the season and Jese could replace him. Terry has one more year left on of his contract and will have to decide if he ends his career at the end of it. Varane looks like the best solution to replace the captain and be paired with Zouma.
