Chelsea Legend To Return To Stamford Bridge

Chelsea Legend To Return To Stamford Bridge

Chelsea are set to make an unexpected move which involves Didier Drogba. Just like last year, Mourinho is looking to bring in one of his former players in order to use him as a third striker option. After Eto’o, it is time for the Blues’ legend Didier Drogba to come to Stamford Bridge. The 36 year old Ivorian is Chelsea’s most prolific striker. He is a legend among Chelsea fans and has been the club’s best forward in the past decade. According to the Daily Mail, Drogba will not be returning just as a player but will also be given training responsibilities.

With Demba Ba and Lukaku set to exit Stamford Bridge in the next couple of weeks, Drogba will be Mourinho’s second or third choice depending on Torres’s form and depending if the Spaniard will continue at Stamford Bridge or not. Diego Costa will probably become the club’s primary striker.

Currently Drogba is a free agent and is considering options from Juventus and some Qatari clubs set on making him a generous offer. The 36 year old will probably choose to return to Stamford Bridge considering the fact that he repeatedly told the press, West London is his home away from home. With a spot secured on Mourinho’s staff as well, there is no real reason for the Ivorian not to become part of the club.
