Chelsea Legend Moves TO NYC After The World Cup In Brazil

Frank Lampard who will turn 36 on the 20th of June, has ended his 13 year collaboration with Chelsea and is now considering the many offers he has received. According to the Daily Express, there are just short of 20 clubs lined up to secure the midfielder’s signature who despite being very close to his retirement, has has still proven an important player for the Blues. Even so, it looks like his career will end elsewhere as Lampard’s agent just announced a move will go down after the World Cup.

Apparently Lampard is tempted to join New York City for a similar salary to that which he earned during his last season on Stamford Bridge. He would not be alone in the club’s new project as David Villa already agreed to move to the US. No official statement was given by the English international who is waiting to see what happens during the World Cup. New York City’s owner seems like he is the only one willing and able to pay Lampard his £150,000 a week salary. Given his age, it is very unlikely any European club would consider making such an investment. Despite being quite efficient and very fit, the 35 year old midfielder is very close to ending his football career. Even if he comes in as a free agent, he will still cost a club around £6 million which is a lot even for the most financially potent names in European football.
