Chelsea Join Four Team Battle For Ghanaian World Cup Star Who Has A Big Fan In Thierry Henry

Chelsea have joined Liverpool, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in pursuing Ajax attacking midfielder Mohammed Kudus, according to reports in Spain.

The 22-year-old has been lighting up the World Cup with his performances for Ghana, scoring twice in the 3-2 win over South Korea on Monday.

Kudus joined Ajax two and a half years ago, moving from Danish club FC Nordsjaelland in the summer of 2020, but injuries meant that he has only recently established himself as a regular starter. He particularly impressed during a Champions League group match against Liverpool earlier this season, when he scored at Anfield, prompting Arsenal legend Thierry Henry to say:

“He [Mohammed Kudus] came from the Academy Right to Dream from Ghana and he is living his dream.”

The Ghanaian international has scored 10 goals in 21 appearances for Ajax in total this campaign and he has carried on impressing out in Qatar.

With Chelsea expected to be in the market in January, it’s unsurprising that Kudus’s name has been mentioned but we shall see if he ends up being a priority target.
