Chelsea are very much still interested in signing Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, according to the Corriere Della Sera.
The Naples-based publication reports that the Blues are “insistent” in trying to secure the Senegalese international’s signature, and Napoli are ready to offload the centre-back if a club matches their €30m (£25m) asking price for the player.
Juventus are also still keen on recruiting Koulibaly but, due to the rivalry between the two clubs, president Aurelio De Laurentiis may not sell to them even if they offered €60m (£51m).
With that being the case, Koulibaly would very much like to join Chelsea “now” rather than wait until next year when he could move on a free transfer.
The 31-year-old is in the last twelve months of his contract at Napoli and it appears he is determined to get a transfer sorted before the summer window closes at the end of next month.
